Art

You can visit the ‘Memoires de la Liberté’ exhibition during your visit to Huis Vanstraelen. It is a beautiful collection of contemporary art of more than 50 works, collected in honour of the 40th birthday of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The collection consists of works from renowned artists who represent the new art streams of the second half of the 20th Century. You can enjoy the works of Alechinsky, Bogart, Lichtenstein, Niki de Saint Phalle, Beuys, Hockney, Corneille, etc.

In the reception hall you can see a unique glass window of the famous Ghent-based artist Herman Blondeel.

In the former service staircase you can see a beautiful Trompe L’ oeil. This was painted by Hasselt-based artist Stef Driesen, who is now highly-renowned and has an exhibition in the Saatchi Gallery in London.

Exhibitions are organised regularly. Would you also like to show your work in an exhibition? Contact us.
